Sampson Outdoors Patriotic Photo Contest for 2022-2023

The Mission

The mission of Sampson Outdoors Patriotic Photo Contest for 2022-2023:

Sampson Outdoors wants to provide it’s registered contestants with a way to be able to say thank you to those who have served, or are currently serving, this great nation. It is a way to honor them and be able to visually show our armed forces (both past and present) that they are truly appreciated for providing us with the freedoms we currently have, and specifically affording us the freedom to still be able to enjoy fishing and hunting.

Rules and Conditions

1) Term:

Sampson Outdoors’ Patriotic Photo Contest for 2022-2023 begins January 1, 2022 and ends January 31, 2023, at 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to these Rules and Conditions and affirms that he or she is 18 years old or older.

2) Who Can Participate in the Contest:

Contestant Criteria: The Sampson Outdoors’ Annual Patriotic Photo Contest for 2022-2023 is open to all individuals of the general public that are 18 years old or older and have registered and paid to participate in the contest by no later than September 30, 2022.

Automatic Entries: Those registered in the Sampson Outdoors’ Big Buck or Big Bull Photo Contests for 2022-2023 are automatically registered and eligible to participate in the Annual Patriotic Photo Contest.

Restrictions: Individuals closely affiliated with Sampson Outdoors, including owners, employees, and their immediate family members (children, parents, siblings, and spouses/significant others) and others living in their households are not eligible to participate in the Contest or be eligible for any prize related to the Contest. Sampson Outdoors will determine winners’ eligibility in accord with these restrictions its sole and absolute discretion.

3) How to Become a Contestant:

Contestants must timely register online through our website at: sampsonoutdoors.com/contests/, provide all registrant information required on the registration form, acknowledge their participation is conditioned upon their acceptance of these Rules and Conditions, and pay any applicable contest fees at that time.

Once registered, a Contestant may submit up to 5 photographs per contest and in compliance with these Rules.

4) Important Dates / Deadlines:

Open for Contestant Registration: July 1, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. (PST)
Closed for Contestant Registration: September 30, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. (PST)
Open for Contestants To Submit Photo Entries: Upon completion of contestant registration {Click Here}. (All photo submissions must either be emailed to photocontest@sampsonoutdoors.com or uploaded to
sampsonoutdoors.com/contests/).
Closed for Photo Submission: January 31, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. (PST)

This is the deadline to submit your last photo. Any photos received after said time/day will automatically be deemed ineligible and not considered in the contest.

5) What Type of Photos May Be Submitted for the Contest:

Photographs must have been taken after January 1, 2022, and in compliance with these Rules
and Conditions.
This is an open photo contest, which means photos can either be natural/original or enhanced/altered with effects that promote the Mission of the contest.
Photos must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg, .png, or .gif format
Photos submitted through the mail will not be accepted
Photos submitted must be submitted from the contestant’s email address used when registering for the contest. There can only be one contestant per e-mail address.
High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable.
Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.
Please keep The Judging Criteria in mind (See 6.A below)

6) Judging of Contestant Photos:

A) Judging Criteria: Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the Mission of the Sampson Outdoors’ Patriotic Photo Contest, and overall
impact.

B) Selection of Finalists: Sampson Outdoors will select 30 finalists. The 30 finalists will be notified of their status as finalists and be published on Sampson Outdoors’ website in February, 2023.

C) Selection of Contestant Winners: Once the 30 finalists have been selected, the public will be permitted to vote, through our website, for their favorite finalist’s photo.

Public voting will remain open for 30 calendar days and at the conclusion will be tallied.

The First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be revealed online on our website in March, 2023. Please do not contact Sampson Outdoors about the status of entries or judging.

7) Prizes:

Three cash prizes will be awarded, as follows:

First Place Prize: $500 to the finalist that obtains the most public votes.
Second Place Prize: $250 to the finalist that obtains the second most public votes.
Third Place Prize: $ 100 to the finalist that obtains the third most public votes.

8) Online Features:

Sampson Outdoors may select photos for highlight on its website or display in a publicly accessible contest archive. Such selections will be made in Sampson Outdoors’ sole discretion.

9) Conditions of Contest Participation:

By registering and/or participating in any photo contest of Sampson Outdoors, the contestant (“Contestant”) attests and agrees to all of the following:

Contestants agrees he or she is solely responsible for their photographic entries.
Contestant certifies that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted photograph.
Contestants understands and agrees that he or she are prohibited from submitting, and agree not to submit, any materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware or telecommunications equipment or are off-topic, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or are otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, show any alcoholic beverages, show any drugs or drug paraphernalia, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
Contestant acknowledges and agrees that the contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Contestant acknowledges that Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. In the event a contest is cancelled, or these rules are materially modified, Sampson Outdoors shall provide notice to registered Contestants through email or through posting on its website.
Contest acknowledges that in the event of a dispute regarding the winners, Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion.
Contestant understands and acknowledges that Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to, without notice, disqualify any Contestant and/or deem any photo entry ineligible that appears in any way to: violate any of these Rules and Conditions or applicable law or regulation; inhibit the
enjoyment of other contestants; tamper with the competition; infringe on the rights of third parties; depicts or demonstrates unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or inconsistent with the stated Mission of the specific contest.
Contestant agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold Sampson Outdoors and its respective owners, directors, officers, managers, agents, and employees (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims related to or in any way arising out of Contestant’s participation in the contest, any alleged or actual violation of these Rules, any alleged or actual (including any conditions, attestations, representations, warranties and acceptance or use of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred as a result of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control.
Contestants acknowledges and agrees that all decisions of Sampson Outdoors are final and binding.

10) General Conditions of Photographic Submissions:

By submitting a photograph or photographs to Sampson Outdoors in relation to any photo contest, the contestant (“Contestant”) attests and agrees to all of the following:

Contestant grants Sampson Outdoors permission to use their name, photograph, and that photographic likeness in his or her photo entry.
Contestant is authorized to grant, and hereby grants, Sampson Outdoors (and those authorized by Sampson Outdoors) a royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of that entry (including contestant’s name and/or photographic likeness), in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of Sampson Outdoors and its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to publications of Sampson Outdoors.
Contestant understands and agrees that Sampson Outdoors shall not be required to seek any additional approval in connection with such uses, and Contestant expressly waives any claim or right of action arising out of the above described uses.
Contestant understands and agrees that he or she shall not be entitled to receive, nor receive, any compensation (excepting if Contestant is entitled to a prize fee for winning the applicable contest for which the photo was entered) for these uses and that Sampson Outdoors is under no obligation to use the entry in any way.

11) Special Conditions of Photographic Submissions That Include a Minor Subject (individual under the age of 18):

By submitting a photograph or photographs to Sampson Outdoors in relation to any photo contest, that includes a minor subject (any individual under the age of 18), Contestant attests and agrees as follows:

Contestant represents, warrants, and attests that he or she is the parent/legal guardian or has obtained the consent of the parent/legal guardian, of any and all minor subjects (individuals under the age of 18) contained in the photos they have submitted and is authorized to submit the photos subject to the Rules and conditions contained herein.
Contestant represents, warrants, and attests that he or she has reviewed all of the Rules andconditions (including without limitation the General Conditions of Photographic Submissions and these Special Conditions) and agrees to the same on behalf of any minors contained in the photos.
Contestant agrees, upon Sampson Outdoors’ request, to immediately provide current contact information for any parent/legal guardian that they are acting upon in submitting any photo containing a minor and/or agreeing to these terms on their behalf.
