Club Hunt On / Club Fish On (CHO/CFO) – “Sampson Outdoors

2024 Monthly & Annual Grand Prize Drawing RULES

NO PURCHASE OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN; HOWEVER, YOU MUST BE A CURRENT CHO/CFO – “Sampson Outdoors” paid member, in good standing with the club.

1. Eligibility: Monthly and Grand Prize Drawings are open to members only who are legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (excluding Florida, Rhode Island, and Puerto Rico) (the “Territory”), located in the Territory at the time of entry, who are Eighteen (18) years of age and older and who are legally eligible to own and possess a firearm. Sampson Outdoors and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, retailers, sales representatives, dealers, distributors, licensees and the advertising, fulfillment, judging and promotion agencies involved in the development and administration of these drawings and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents and members of their immediate families (defined as including spouse, biological, adoptive and step-parents, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren, and each of their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above are not eligible to participate. These drawings are subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and is void outside the Territory and where prohibited by law. By participating in these drawings, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors, which shall be final in all matters relating to the drawings.

2. Monthly and Annual GRAND PRIZE Drawings Periods: The Monthly & Annual Drawing periods begins at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time on January 1, 2024 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on December 15, 2024.

3. How to Enter: Register as a CHO/CFO club member by Joining The Club Here -or- mailing your annual membership fee of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) and the following information: 

 

  • Your Name;
  • Your physical and mailing address;
  • Date of birth;
  • Email address; 
  • Telephone number; 
  • Provide your primary outdoor interest: Fishing (fishing trips); Hunting (hunting trips), Camping, etc. 
  • Mail check & above information to: Sampson Outdoors, P.O. Box 461, Weimar, CA 95736. Each registered member will receive one (1) drawing entry, to be used in each monthly drawing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, all entries become the exclusive property of Sampson Outdoors and will not be acknowledged or returned except as provided herein. You become a winner after your prize claim is validated by Sampson Outdoors.


4. Monthly and Annual GRAND PRIZE Drawings: On or about the twenty-eigth (28th) of each month, CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the previous month’s drawing period. On or about December 15, 2024, CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received during the entire Annual GRAND PRIZE Drawing Period. Participants must be present at our Annual Banquet to win.

5. Prizes, Approximate Retail Value & Odds of Winning: Monthly Drawings will vary in number of winners and prize value. Prizes will consist of hunting, fishing, camping and other outdoor related merchandise. One (1) Annual Grand Prize Drawing: Will be comparable to one (1) of the following hunting or fishing trips of a lifetime:

  • A guided African Safari, a trophy bull elk hunt, a guided bison hunt, a guided duck & goose hunt, a deer hunt, a moose hunt, a wild pig hunt or guided fishing trip for one (1) person. Most hunts will take place on private property located in California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and North Dakota. Most fishing trips will take place in California, Alaska or Washington. Hunt locations will depend on the hunt trip given away during the drawing period. Dates for the trips will be determined at the time of the drawing and outfitters availability. Round-trip air transportation and any required car rental, to and from the hunt or fishing outfitter location, is the winner’s sole responsibility.  

Approximate Retail Value for the Annual Grand Prize will vary between $4,000.00 and $12,500.00. The Hunt -OR- Fishing trip will likely take place sometime between March 1 through November 30 of the upcoming season. Winner must be eligible to obtain any required hunting licenses or permits. If winner cannot take the Hunt trip as stated, if the winner is not eligible to obtain any required licenses or permits, or if the winner is not able to accept prize as awarded the Annual Grand Prize in its entirety will be forfeited and may, in CHO/CFO -Sampson Outdoors’s Sole discretion, be awarded to an alternate winner selected at random from all remaining eligible entries timely received. CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors may modify the hunt or fish dates in its sole and absolute discretion if verification of a winner makes such booking date impractical. Winner agrees that the winner and the hunting or fishing trip may be videotaped as a potential promotional video for CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors use. Grand Prize must be accepted as awarded. A major credit card will be required at hotel check-in to cover any miscellaneous expenses. All expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Expenses which are known and not included but are not limited to: gratuities, additional meals, taxes, expenses, travel insurance, optional extra activities, taxidermy, processing game, processed game shipping, alcoholic beverages, Hunters Safety Certification, and any and all taxes (including, but not limited to, federal income taxes), insurance, licensing, registration fees and costs, and other expenses related to winning or accepting the Annual Grand Prize or that may be required for the enjoyment and use of the prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner. All decisions regarding accommodations are at the sole discretion of CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors. CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors may modify such booking dates in its sole and absolute discretion if verification of a winner makes such booking dates impractical. State and local laws, restrictions and regulations may limit or prohibit the sale, prize distribution, or use of certain Prizes. Prizes may require the completion of Federal and State forms which must be completed and passed prior to distribution of the prize. Prizes are as stated and cannot be substituted for cash or other products.

 

All characteristics and features of the prize(s) except as otherwise explicitly stated above are at CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors’s sole and absolute discretion. No substitution, cash redemption, sale or transfer of prize(s) is permitted except at Sampson Outdoors’s sole discretion or as provided herein. If a prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to substitute such prize (or portion thereof) with an equivalent prize of equal or greater value. All federal, state and local taxes, and all other costs associated with acceptance or use of the prize(s), are the sole responsibility of the applicable winner(s). Arrangements for delivery of prize(s) will be made after winner validation. Any difference between the actual value of any prize and the approximate retail value set forth in these rules may not be claimed and will not be awarded. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received per member. Prize(s) will be awarded only to an address within the Territory provided they are claimed properly in accordance with these Official Rules. At Sampson Outdoors’s discretion, prize(s) that are not claimed properly in accordance with these Official Rules may not be awarded. The monthly drawing prizes will be delivered to Sampson Outdoors’s location; however, alternate locations may be selected by Sampson Outdoors’s. Winners must pick up or otherwise arrange for transport of the drawing prize from Sampson Outdoors designated location within fourteen (14) days of being notified and validated that he/she is the winner. Winners are responsible for all other transport, pick-up and/or other delivery costs.

 

Firearm prizes: Transfer of any prize falling under the legal definition of a firearm, shall be conducted through the store in which the firearm was purchased, which is a federally licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer. All firearms transfers will be conducted in strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. If, at any time prior to fulfillment of the prize, the winner is unable, unwilling, or barred from obtaining or using a firearm for any reason, or if winner lives in a location where sale or possession of the drawing prize [or portion thereof] is prohibited by federal, state, or local law, winner will be declared ineligible by Sampson Outdoors and Sampson Outdoors reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to choose an alternate drawing prize winner via random selection from among the remaining eligible entries. By accepting a firearms prize, winner acknowledges that he/she is not legally prohibited from owning or taking possession of a firearm.Winner must comply with any and all federal, state and local laws and regulations, and complete all required paperwork, along with all liability waivers prior to prize fulfillment. PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT THE PRODUCTS INCLUDED IN THE ANNUAL GRAND PRIZE ARE PROVIDED BY THE RELEASED PARTIES AS IS AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, GIVEN BY THE RELEASED PARTIES.

6. Entrant Verification: In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be declared made by the person in whose name the entry was made. Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to Sampson Outdoors including, without limitation, government issued photo identification) for any reason Sampson Outdoors deems necessary, in its sole discretion, for the purposes of administering these drawings in accordance with these Official Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of Sampson Outdoors within the timeline specified by Sampson Outdoors may result in disqualification by Sampson Outdoors, in its sole discretion.

7. Disqualification: Entries which are incomplete, incorrect, incomprehensible, not received, or do not otherwise comply with these Official Rules (as determined by the Sampson Outdoors in its sole and absolute discretion) will be void and will not be entered into Sampson Outdoors’s prize drawings. Entries made by facsimile, overnight courier, automated means, any entry service, or in any other manner not specifically allowed under these Official Rules will not be entered into these drawings and may result in disqualification of the entries and the responsible entrant(s). Sampson Outdoors reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process or who acts in a disruptive or unfair manner or who is considered to NOT be in good standings with the CHO/CFO – SAMPSON OUTDOORS, at Sampson Outdoors’s sole and absolute discretion.

8. Notification & Validation of Winners: Potential winners will each be contacted by telephone, email, regular mail or overnight mail, and will be required to complete, sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, a liability release, tax forms, and where lawful, a publicity release within ten (10) days of contact The return of any notification as undeliverable or failure to respond to notices or return any required documents or information in a timely manner or a determination that a potential winner is ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, as determined by Sampson Outdoors, in its sole and absolute discretion, may result in disqualification of the winner and forfeiture of the corresponding prize, and the choosing of an alternate winner in a random drawing from among the remaining eligible entries.

9. Limitations: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sampson Outdoors Parties are not responsible for: (i) electronic or digital transmissions, entries or mail that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, misdirected, non-delivered, or not received by Sampson Outdoors for any reason; (ii) mail that is received postage-due; (iii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures (including but not limited to failures or malfunctions of phone lines, mail delivery service, telephone systems or other communications systems), destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, or for printing, distribution or production errors; (iv) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions; (v) damage to entrants’ or any person’s computer; (vi) causes beyond Sampson Outdoors reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of these drawings; (vii) incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by entrants or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the drawings; (viii) any typographical or other error in the printing or advertising related to the drawings, in Sampson Outdoors’s execution of the drawings, or in the announcement/notification of prize winners; (ix) any human, or other error, which may occur in the drawings or administration of the drawings; or (x) cheating or fraud by any participant. 

 

10. Modification, Suspension and Termination: If for any reason these drawings cannot be executed as planned, including but not limited to infection by virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, legal mandate, or any other causes beyond the control of Sampson Outdoors, that corrupt or affect the security, administration, integrity, fairness or proper conduct of these drawings, or if these drawings are compromised or become corrupted in any way, electronically or otherwise, Sampson Outdoors reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void suspect entries/entrants and/or modify, suspend and/or terminate these drawings. If the drawings are terminated before the stated end date of the drawing periods, Sampson Outdoors may select the winners in a random drawing from among all applicable eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the time/date of termination. Thereafter, Sampson Outdoors reserves the right to accept no further entries and award no further prizes.

11. Releases: By participating in these drawings, entrants agree (and agree to confirm in writing):
A) to the maximum extent permitted by law, that all causes of action arising out of or connected with these drawings, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action;
B) to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Sampson Outdoors and all related Parties, and their respective successors and assigns from and against any liability, loss, claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, injury, death or damages arising out of participation in these drawing prizes (hunting or fishing trips) or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize received from these drawings; and
C) to waive all rights to claim punitive, indirect, incidental and consequential damages, attorneys fees, court costs, or any damages other than actual out-of-pocket costs incurred to enter, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO APPLICABLE PORTIONS OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Publicity: Except where prohibited, participation in these drawings constitutes each permission for Sampson Outdoors and its agencies to use entrants’ names, photographs, videos, voices and/or any other likenesses for purposes of advertising and publicity in all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without compensation or notice.

13. Privacy: The personal information collected through these drawings is subject to Sampson Outdoors Privacy Policy. By entering these drawings, each entrant agrees that Sampson Outdoors, its agents and/or representatives may store, share and use the personal information he/she submitted with his/her entry for the purpose of administering these drawings and agrees to the collection, use and disclosure of his/her personal information as described in these Official Rules, in the Privacy Policy and as permitted by law.

14. Jurisdiction and Notice: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant and Sampson Outdoors in connection with these drawings, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of California. By entering, entrants irrevocably consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal and state courts located within Placer County, California for any action, suit or proceeding arising out of or relating to these drawings.

15. Severability: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Official Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any drawing-related materials or made by any representative of Sampson Outdoors, and the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, these Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control.

16. Third Party Rights: All trademarks used herein are the property of their respective owners. Manufacturers of the prizes offered in these drawings do not sponsor or endorse the drawings and are not affiliated with CHO/CFO – Sampson Outdoors, in any way.
