Founder of Sampson Outdoors

Theodore (Tad) Sampson

Theodore (Tad) Sampson founded Club Hunt On / Club Fish On (Sampson Outdoors) in the year 2000 when he was acting as President/CEO of his estate & retirement planning corporation of 28 years.

At the same time, Tad was and is still employed, for nearly 25 years, as a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer for the State of California, Department of Transportation.

In 2018, Governor Brown of California awarded Tad the Medal of Valor; the highest honor bestowed by the State of California. Medal of Valor recipients are employees of the State who have performed an extraordinary act of heroism far above and beyond the normal call of duty.

Tad graduated from California State University at Sacramento in 1993, with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering.

In his spare time, Tad volunteers his time as a youth football and baseball coach.

Tad has one son and one step-daughter.

The Colonel’s pin above was presented to Tad at a veteran’s fundraiser in 2023 by retired Marine, Rick Crevier, in appreciation for the work SAMPSON OUTDOORS has done to help raise money and awareness for our veterans rehabilitating back into society at home.
